24 hour protest quickly runs out of time

The only pop-tent that made Occupy Sheffield’s 24 hour pop-up camp.

Occupy Sheffield tonight tried to stage a 24 hour pop-up camp site on the steps of Sheffield Town Hall as they tried to establish that they may have been moved on but they were not forgotten. But only a single pop-up tent made the temporary protest.

Poor turnout

With such a poor turnout questions and concerns were quickly raised over the safety of those there, especially on a Friday night. Soon it was settled that there wasn’t much of a point to take the risk and the group would be more effective if they concentrated their efforts on the following day.

Flexibility is our strength 

But despite this latest set back in their protests, the Occupy Sheffield group remains optimistic that they can make a difference. One of the protesters claimed it was the flexibility of their plans is their greatest strength to overcome their repeated adversaries.
